President and CEO, Andrew Belt, is a proud United States Marine veteran both Iraqi and Enduring Freedom combat campaigns. Andrew formed the company on the belief that today’s financial firms are in great need of valuation service providers that are built upon the same founding values of our military; SERVICE, LOYALTY, HONESTY and INTEGRITY. Additionally, it was paramount to Andrew that Valued Veterans would operate with a clear understanding of how its services compliment the operational and compliance needs of our nation’s largest lending institutions.

CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
CEO Andrew Belt formed Valued Veterans, LLC in June of 2011 and has lead the company to double digit year after year growth, since the firms genesis. Mr. Belt left the Mortgage Banking business in 2011 after recognizing an industry paradigm shift and a need to restore confidence in the residential appraisal process. Through tenacity and strategy, He’s applied the core values of our nation’s military veterans and employed veterans to carry out this objective.
Mr. Belt is a graduate of the Henry Bloch School of Business in Kansas City, he continues to push the company in new directions, focusing on the needs of the market and the adoption of new technology and valuation products. His primary goal is to keep the company nimble and forward of an ever changing industry.
Russell Bruemmer joined Valued Veterans, LLC in August of 2015 after several years as an instrumental advising counselor. Mr. Bruemmer has a deep passion for the advancement of our nation’s warriors, protecting and promoting Veteran causes in many areas. He participates actively in Valued Veterans future state horizontal and vertical strategy and all business negotiations.
Mr. Bruemmer retired from Wilmer Cutler Pickering Hale and Dorr LLP in 2014, joining the firm in 1981 after serving as Chief Counsel-Congressional Affairs for the Federal Bureau of Investigation. He became a partner in 1985. Mr. Bruemmer served as General Counsel of the CIA from 1987 to 1990, when he returned to the firm. His practice focused primarily on financial services institutions, including the negotiation and documentation of acquisitions and divestitures, joint ventures and financing transactions; resolving enforcement actions and conducting internal investigations: corporate governance and corporate structuring matters in a variety of industries.
After clerking for Judge William H. Webster on the US Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit, Mr. Bruemmer was appointed Special Assistant to the Director of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in February 1978. Mr. Bruemmer served in that position until June 1980, when he became Chief Counsel-Congressional Affairs for the FBI, a position he held until he joined the firm in 1981. Mr. Bruemmer also served as Special Counsel to the Director of Central Intelligence from September 1987 to January 1988 and as the Central Intelligence Agency’s General Counsel from January 1988 until March 1990. At the CIA, Mr. Bruemmer managed an office of 60 lawyers and was the senior legal officer for the Agency and the Director of Central Intelligence.
DIRECTOR OF COMMERCIAL OPERATIONS
Jack Poe is Navy Veteran and has been a commercial property valuation expert for 30 years, Mr. Poe served four years as an appraisal standard writer on the Appraisal Standards Committee of the Appraisal Institute and currently serves as one of two US citizens on an International Valuation Standards Council working group to develop international valuation standards for investment property valuation. He received his Master of Science degree in Real Estate Appraisal in 2001 from the University of Saint Thomas, his MAI designation from the Appraisal Institute in 1988, his Texas Real Estate Broker’s License in 1987, and a bachelor’s degree in finance from the University of Texas at Arlington in 1980 (where he currently volunteers in the Real Estate and Business Ethics departments). Mr. Poe also served as 2010 President of the California not-for-profit Forensic Expert Witness Association.
He has testified as an expert witness in Federal Courts in Dallas, Waco, Tyler, Atlanta and Los Angeles as well as Dallas, Tarrant and Grayson County District Court. His specialties include routine and litigation support for appraisals of market-rate apartments, affordable family and senior multifamily housing, office, industrial, and retail commercial real estate. Jack holds State Certified General Licenses in AZ, AR, CO, GA, KS, LA, OK OR, TX and has held temporary licenses in over 20 additional states.
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS, CONTROLLER & SENIOR VICE-PRESIDENT
Emily Schukman is a Senior Vice President as well as the acting Controller. A 2008 graduate of Emporia State University and holding BA certificates in Business and Accounting, Ms. Schukman is a genesis leader of Valued Veterans and possesses a deep understanding and expertise, in real estate and valuation as a licensed agent in the State of Kansas and Missouri. Emily controls and oversees daily operations for the order management staff, while continuously developing and implementing technology enhancements, process flows and operational efficiency. Her ability to assimilate large data sets and implement change management, has propelled the company and assisted our growing recognition as a national performer in appraisal management. Ms. Schukman has proven that concepts such as boutique service, exceptional client and appraiser service, exceed the industry norm when compared to big box competition.
DIRECTOR OF BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Ridge Rees has over a decade of experience maturing complex verticals for an array of companies in the energy, entertainment, insurance and non-profit sectors. Each endeavor has involved highly bespoke products in highly regulated industries with accelerated performance parameters. As an energetic and impact leader, Ridge excels as a communicator and welcomes the opportunity to develop relationships on both a professional and personal level, which play in concert with his responsibilities at Valued Veterans relating to business procurement, acquisition and development of teaming relationships with well complimenting businesses. Mr. Rees welcomes the opportunity to create new channels of business for Valued Veterans, while strengthening our existing expertise.
Mr. Rees holds a Bachelor of Business Administration degree from the University of Missouri – Kansas City and was heavily involved in the Institute for Entrepreneurship and Innovation at UMKC, through the Bloch School of Business.
